SHELL CORDOVAN
Shell Cordovan is a very special leather, it's incredibly strong, even in thin strips. The Shell Cordovan we use is Horween Genuine Shell Cordovan® from Chicago, USA.
"Normal" leather comes from a cowhide, which is a large hide and as the beef industry is huge there isn't a shortage of cowhide. Shell Cordovan is from horsehide, but a very specific section of the hide, the rump. The horse works this area of skin hard during its life and this is how the leather gets this unique strength.
