Choosing a Fabric Strap

Choosing a Fabric Strap

Will a fabric strap fit my watch?

Most watches with standard spring bars and conventional lugs can be fitted with a one-piece fabric strap.

However, one-piece fabric straps may not be suitable for watches with:

  • Integrated bracelets
  • Proprietary strap attachment systems
  • Unusually shaped lug designs
  • Very limited clearance between the spring bar and watch case

If you're unsure whether a fabric strap will fit your watch, contact us at orders@barkandjack.com with your watch make and model.

Choosing the correct strap width

The most important measurement is your watch's lug width. This is the distance between the inside edges of the lugs, where the strap attaches to the watch.

Choose your one-piece fabric strap according to the table below.

Your watch lug width Strap to choose
18mm 18mm
19mm 20mm
20mm 20mm
21mm 22mm
22mm 22mm

Our fabric straps are available in standard widths, so watches with an odd 19mm or 21mm lug width should use the next available size.

You can accurately measure your lug width using a ruler or callipers. See the illustration below for exactly where to measure.

It's also a good idea to look up the specifications for your watch online to verify your physical measurement. Bear in mind that certain watch models can vary in lug width between different references, so always check the specifications for your exact model where possible.
